21 days until Christmas can you say STRESSED?

After getting Gavin home Monday night I thought things would calm down & be quiet this week...but if you have been reading my blog this year you know that is NOT GOD'S plan for me in 2008. They say it is acid reflux still, however I would like to know why the meds aren't stopping it then...also that he has a protien intolerance so he is on a special formula that has nothing in it.

Tuesday was spent trying to catch up on grading the kids school and reviewing Tyler's literature. I needed to try to reinstall my OS on my desktop so I could get to my prayer warriors emails & update them, the photo's for the Rug Hooking blog so I could update one of the traveling rugs... it was not cooperating. The phone rang numerous times the last of which was my son asking if I could come watch Gavin so he could register for a class at the college. We packed up and headed over there around 2pm and he was back around 4:30. Here he is playing with Uncle Tyler (he pulled his tube out earlier in the morning)
The kids & I got home and started where we left off, Larry came home, we ate dinner (I think) and as I was trying to focus on the school papers the phone rang again, Tim needed help to put Gavin's NG tube back in, so I threw on a coat *yes it was actually chilly here* and drove over to help. When I finally got back home I had such a headache I fell asleep in front of the fire with my head on the chairs arm.

Wednesday was much better, although I didn't get the traditional breakfast in bed (I was awake before everyone else) I did have a relaxing morning while the family played with my gift...an antique looking radio that can play records (remember those?) CD's, Cassettes (some of you whipper snappers might recall them) and MP3 players it will also transfer them to MP3 or CD. So Larry and the kids dragged out all my old 45's (I was foolish enough to throw out my album collection, about 60+ albums in my 20's or maybe not so foolish after yesterday) and played them until I finished a nice long bath and made them go on a four mile walk at Ft. Fraser Trail. (I would include the link but my browser on the laptop now crashes if I open a second window)
We got home in time to clean up and have Sushi for dinner before heading off to our Financial Peace Class. David & Lori brought Chocolate Cake to celebrate the other Dave & my Birthday.

I have managed to do a few loads of laundry today before Gavin arrived at noon. I will be taking him home around 7pm to hook him up to his feeding pump and wait for Tim to get home from work around 11 pm. I am hoping to get those school papers graded after he goes to sleep around 8 tonight.

The few bags of small gifts I have will wait another day to be wrapped and Christmas decorations won't be going up until sometime next week as Saturday is Primitives Class/Piano Recital and the Church Christmas Party, Sunday I think I will be too tired to decorate since Larry flies out on business at 6am. Even my poor Christmas Swap Partner Yvonne is waiting for her gifts. . . sorry Yvonne. Soon I promise!

This was a banner on the trail that I just thought was very accurate

GO RAYS!!!

Well after getting to The Primitive Rug Hooking Group a few minutes early I tried to help fix her email (it wasn't sending) well I found out they changed providers & the new provider password was not working and the gentleman didn't tell them their password...GREAT.
We then found out their voicemail had never been set up. Messages have been going into limbo for over 3 years...lol

Finally got started hooking my Santa about 10 just after Susan arrived with her Turkey.

There were some great rugs & a felted tree I took photo's of but my iphoto program keeps crashing so I will have to transfer them tomorrow to my laptop & mail them to my desktop. Or I could figure out how to mobile blog one of these days...BUT NOT TODAY!
This is Melanies Snowfolks Rug aren't they adorable

Melanie is now starting her stained glass Dragonflies (I love this rug & her color choices)

Maggie started this rug after the last class in September, she chose a beautiful bright green backing for this rug, I can't wait to see how it turns out.

I have to get cleaned up & change clothes to meet up with friends to head to the RAYS GAME. We are in the nosebleed section on the third baseline, but we are going to be at playoff game 6 and it better be their final game before the World Series. I have a theory that they throw the games so they can sell more tickets & merchandise by dragging these things out to 6 or 7 games.
If they clinch it early both teams loose out on revenue from ticket sales & all the food/merchandise, parking, etc.

Larry, Tyler, Jess & Gabe (apparently he is still alive) are heading to the Lightening Game tonight. So the critters have the run of the house.

PLEASE PRAY this doesn't go into extra innings I am too old stay out late & drive another 60 minutes home.

UFO Rugs on the Road to Texas

Well today I shipped off two of our UFO rugs to Cheryl in Texas...if you have never visited THE HOOKERS site you should!

Primitive Rug Hookers

I still haven't found my cable for my camera..I really wanted to post a few photo's of some of the beautiful rugs from Primitives Class on Saturday. I will keep looking in between working on Sahara & Gavin's Christmas presents and .... grading papers.

This was Saturday morning heading into the DH's office to drop him off before class...it was foggy only about a mile around the facility. I took it with my cell phone it was absolutely beautiful.

Things are just starting to HEAT UP

Even though our summer sky is stunning!

I am sooo ready for Autumn... the problem here in Central Florida is that Autumn
doesn't arrive until a week before Christmas
That is if we are lucky!

So while hiding inside I started making some of my own 'changes'
Our UFO (un finished objects) rug hooking group has a new online meeting place.
I haven't been able to get all the members admitted yet....
We will be updating the PRHG Blog (link to the left) with more photo's soon.

A fellow hooker injured her arm which has led me into the online world of Scrabble
I even started a game with DIL Brittnay

Last week I tried Onion Skin Dying a few pieces of cotton/linen/muslin & wool

Back to my mini remodeling job....watch for pictures soon!

And they're OFF .

We are hitting the road...off to Collier-Seminole State Park for the weekend!

I think we are completely packed but who knows I am only functioning on 4 hours of sleep.

Sahara was awake until 3:40 this morning and of course kept me awake with her, finally I gave her a melatonin.

What normally takes an hour has taken me three hours this morning. I listed my newest piece on Ebay for PRHG'S

'HOT FUN in the Summertime' Launch
Over the next two weeks we will be listing items with a summertime feel or look.
Here is mine

This started as one of our Primitive Class Projects and I had to change up the design a bit
I had these amazing beads in the shape of Watermelon seed stashed away in my drawer for 18 years...
THEY WORK PERFECTLY don't you think?

So the important stuff is packed, coffee, clothes, my next piece (which is almost done) and my newest Issue of Country Home Magazine to finish reading on the way.
Polly is featured on the cover & her home, perfectly clean & beautifully arranged (always so I hear) is inside along with the newest Rug Kit to benefit Semper Fi Injured Marines.

Hope to have some wonderful photos to post later this weekend & check out the above links...expand your mind!

Just one thing after another around here

Woke up to poor Casper not feeling well, he has a slight temp & some type of intestinal bug (Hoping for only 2 4hours)
He wouldn't eat his breakfast and has been sleeping on the couch all day. I have taken him out a couple of times to make sure he potties and got him to eat 1/2 a piece of sliced ham and drink a little water.

In the meantime I am trying to keep busy finishing up a couple of "TO DO" items, like rearrange my crop/art studio room.
I have decided to sell off the display I used for the Craft Shows and set up the room so that I can use it for inventory & storing my wool/foundations/patterns. In the process I am trying to remember to find my black beads to finish a wall hanging I hope to list next week for our PRHG "HOT Fun in the Summertime" Launch and a vintage box to mount my needlepunch bunny onto. Oh yeah and the crib/changing pad sheet for the nursery at church.

Okay back to work...then piano lessons, then the eye doctor (who is a NUT) Hi Dr. Petro! :-)

Have a Blessed Day & Stay Safe, we are praying for ALL those affected by fires, tornados, floods, earthquakes & the heat.

Thank you all!

I have to thank Kelley for posting a comment because I completely forgot I hadn't updated anyone on Calvin's tests.
Friday night I had to pick up the eldest daughter after she dropped her car off at a friends to be fixed & took her home...all while driving the stick with Otis on my arm.
Saturday I had to pick her up, take her to work & get to the shop by 8:30 for Primitive Class. Got the call at 11:30 that he has HYPOthyroid. Normal for a cat is 4 and under, Calvin's is 18 so his body is burning up all his muscle tissue. . .
I would be happy to trade some of my slow for his fast and even the deal out!

There are some other stuff but first we are getting his thyroid back to 'normal' and his bladder infection cleared up. This could be why his front ligaments are hyper extended there is no muscle tissue there to support his legs. Poor thing!

So he has to have meds 2 x a day for the next 2wks for his Thyroid and 1x a day for his bladder. In the meantime his appetite has returned and he is eating special treats (chicken, fish, goat milk, raw milk cheese) every 3 -4 hours.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS! Hopefully we can help him regain some muscle & fat now!

In the meantime I have been hooking two of the UFO rugs, Un Finished Objects (Hooked Rugs). One is ready to mail to the next hooker on the trail & the other is just about ready!

I started this on PRHG about a month ago with a dozen hookers. We picked a rug that we hadn't hooked or started hooking and gave up on under 2ft x 2ft to send on the road.
Each person hooks about 4" x 4" of the rug and mails it off to the next person who does the same thing. Each hooker is to take a picture of the rug while they hook it or when they are finished with their portion. They can send along a note with the rug detailing their experience for the rug owner. Some included a journal to keep with the rug and one lady even sent small wool magnets she made for all the ladies hooking her rug.
This has been a fun experience because you can hook a small area & know your contributing to a whole piece without getting bored with it.

I will be posting photo's of each rug's progress and the finished rugs on PRHG's Blog when they have traveled the country & returned home. So check there often!

Here is a photo or two from the trip home .... Our first 'offical' campground (not Denise's front yard) in Berlin, Ohio

Downtown Millersburg

And The Local Amish in their Horse & Buggy....I swear they just ride around town like employees at Disney as part of the atmosphere.

OKay off to clean house before guests arrive!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!!

Small Blessings right when you need them

I have to admit I have been somewhat blue this past week or two...I really had hoped to take a small 'holiday' at the beach this upcoming weekend but alas it was not to be...

So today while trying to get through more cleaning & my other domestic diva tasks the doorbell rings,
most folks would be thrilled at the distraction, however in my home the doorbell ringing sets EVERYONE of the dogs into a barking frenzy. Just in case I didn't hear that doorbell they feel it necessary to go into full attack mode.

After allowing the mail lady to return down my front yard to her Jeep I opened the door to see two packages on the stoop.
I opened the first & it is the book I recently ordered, I can't wait to devour it.
The second is a larger box and I set it aside to take care of another more pressing task or two not returning to the box for a couple hours. I opened it to find my wool swap partner Lois has been far more efficient than I in getting her Red, White & Blue Swap to me. A lovely bundle of red, white and blue wools tied with a grossgrain ribbon that has 2 hand dyed skeins of red & blue floss looped through. If that isn't more than enough there is a cutter quilt pillow in the box also, with 2 Scotty Dogs stamped onto it.
I promise to post a photo tomorrow.

Tonight right before I was going to go to bed I received an email from an Etsy member...she has chosen one of my items for her treasury.
I was so happy I had to boot this machine back up & write her a thank you note. Cara you lifted my spirits!

A treasury is difficult to get as there are 60,000 members and you have to be online at just the right time. When you are fortunate enough to snag one you fill it with your favorite items from Etsy. Then Etsy will post Treasurys on the home page, rotating them for all to see.

Then, I don't recall why, I went to my friends blog, who lives over the pond, to see what is new with her & I found the sweetest note in her profile. She said my silly blog is her Favorite, another little virtual hug from two ladies I have never met but have been Angels, delivering a virtual hug to someone else!
Thank you!

Oh we received some much needed rain today, we still need more but we are thankful for the rain we received today!

May you be aware of your blessings and may you be one to someone else today!

Arrived Safely

We made it home at 10:30 last night and unloaded some of the car & camper before collapsing on the bed and dozing off.
I had high hopes of a tub but I didn't even get the bedspread off. Today has been another whirlwind day & it is now quit for the moments so I thought I should jot a note to let you all know I have plenty of photos & days that need to be added to this misadventure. Although I have 2 orders and a group UFO (round robin for you quilters) to get organized by Wednesday so bare with me and I will do what I can when I can. In the meantime I am trying to get the laundry done & the house back in order.

more power than even I realized

I have to smile as this morning I received an email from one of the ladies in our Primitive Rug Hooking Group....
There has been ongoing problems when members try to sign into the group boards ....they are unable to sign in...Ebay has said they are aware of the problem and they are working on it.

A while back someone thought that the 'cookies' stored on your computer was the problem....
I'm not a computer genius by any stretch of the imagination here,
while it might have worked one time for that person or persons, that isn't the issue.

Yesterday another lady suggested typing in your password then holding down the control key & clicking sign in....
while I had never tried that one, it has worked for me this morning as I was not able to log in.
DISCLAIMER HERE I do not know if it will work on all computers I have a MAC all I can say is give it a try

The cutest thing that made me smile was her note at the bottom of the email
" I hope you can straighten this out for all of us as we do love this site. Thank you"

I am so glad you love our group!
The most powerful being I know is GOD and I will ask.

BIG REVEAL COMING SOON.....

My dear friend & Leader of the Primitive Rug Hooking Group, Betty & I have been working hard on bringing the EBAY PRHG Group into compliance with their guidelines & policies. With the help of Julie, Deirdre & The Queen we have been deleting THOUSANDS of links to outside (of ebay) sites & blogs. These wonderful ladies have spent hours upon hours deleting links/posts & threads that go back to the groups inception back in early 2006.

Just imagine over 150 women posting numerous times daily to each other, asking questions, building friendships, sharpening their Hooking Skills, from all over the United States & Canada.
That should give you an inkling of how many posts they have gone through to clean up the group so as not to have it closed down and to keep these women together.
This time, by the way has been completely VOLUNTEERED. This is the love for the art and the group as a whole that has kept us going to make sure the group does not close.

On top of all that we have been trying to make sure things run smoothly & make it clear that we all were in violation of the policies, and even though it was allowed and not corrected by the previous leader or moderators with all the changes happening on Ebay it needed to be fixed now before people were caught and possibly suspended or removed.

I can not tell you how proud I am of Betty, Julie, Deirdre & The Queen (Sherry) for their dedication & selflessness!
Thank you to Doris who started a list of members information last fall, and to the 40 or 50 members who updated & added their information to that list. We now have a way to contact them should something happen to the group board...
Thank you to all the members who didn't feel they were 'singled' out and willingly removed their links/banners & website information from their signature files!
My friends you will be rewarded for your cooperative spirit.....

For those of you who are not members you can search for ALL the talented pieces by these ladies on ETSY & EBAY, just type PRHG into the search fields of either website. You can even GOOGLE PRHG for some of the members listings/blogs.
