Some wonderful photo highlights

It really is a challenge using an outdated program to edit photos to this blog so I emailed them all back to my desktop & ask that you forgive any discolorations or less than sharp images as iphoto is still not working on this machine...despite my attempts to restore it from a previous version....UGH

Journeyfest...weekend update

We arrived in Brooksville around 5:30 and set up camp, there were only a few other campers already there & a youth group with their tents set up. We pulled in right across the roadway from the Encore Stage (Pavilion) which would be used Saturday.
Friday Night was all Hardcore Metal Bands...seems odd to think Christian Heavy Metal or Screamo as some call it.

We could hear them all just find from our campsite and let Tyler go hang out down in the Main Stage Area...We roasted Marshmallows & played 500 Rummy with Sahara. Tyler rolled back in at 10pm to watch Numbers and play cards with us until Midnight when the music finished.

Saturday I was up early, 4:30am to take the dogs out. Thankfully they all went back to sleep until 8am when we all started the day. We had omelets cooked over the fire then set out to see the vendors & the main stage with Otis, Emma & Casper.
Sahara & I stopped to talk to a young girl who was sitting on a tree drawing...she wanted to pet the dogs. Grethel & Sahara became fast friends & were inseparable the rest of the weekend. Her mother & stepbrother were vending one of the food stands.

Tyler decided on a T-shirt & hat from one of the booths called Remnant Gear where Joel Betancourt & Omar De Pablo have their amazing designed clothing and Joels C.D.'s for sale. I will put their links on the side, be sure to check them out!

More on the rest of the day tomorrow.

Good Friends, Good Music, Good Morning

Friday Night was a blast! Sarah's cousin Beth had never been so we took her on TWISTER first
...then THE MUMMY!
That is my favorite ride...it starts out like Pirates of The Caribbean, it then reminds me of The Haunted Mansion, then it's alot like Rockin' Roller Coaster but it is over too fast!

We then ate at Finnegan's and Tyler ran back & forth between the stages & his food.

As you can see BETH is a stitch & fits right in with our little group! She kept us laughing every time I took a picture with her poses!

After dinner Kristin & I stopped at Starbuck's, I had to have a Pumpkin Spice Latte even though it was about 85 degrees out still.
I have realized I am getting old because all the noise in the lines hurts my ears! Sarah had run to the First Aid to get earplugs for herself & ibuprofen for my headache from the noise of the teenagers in the lines.

There was still an hour to go before the Newsboys took the stage so we headed over to try to get nice & close.....HAHAHAHAH
It was a LITERAL WALL of bodies all the way back to the lighting tent... we found a small area near the middle where we could breathe and maybe do a little jumping.

It NEVER ceases to move me when I see this many people come & worship GOD, multi-generations/race/nationality it is AMAZING!

When they came out on the catwalk to the mini stage we found out we were closer than we expected!

Peter, Paul, Duncan & Jeff

Sarah got one of Duncan's drumsticks after the concert so she & Sahara posed with Peter's cocktail set

I hope to post more later & hopefully add that short vid clip...The glass repair guy is here & I have to elevate my foot since I broke my toe yesterday

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING!!!! Hanna update

Well Hurricane Hanna is on the move and she is avoiding us, PRAISE GOD. Now the folks in the Carolinas look to be in her sights.
She is a little closer than I would like for this evenings events...We have been waiting ALL YEAR for ROCK THE UNIVERSE
Right now we are getting things set up today for tomorrows big Customer Appreciation Crop since we won't be home until after 1am
Moving furniture from the living room into the other rooms so we can set up the tables & chairs since it will be too humid to crop on the lanai. Since I am making lunch for everyone I have been tossing around a few possibilities ... Tropical Chicken Salad or 13 bean Chili... DH has had numerous requests for his WORLD famous Scones so they will have to be baked in the morning. I might need to run to the store to get a few things though all before Piano Lessons this afternoon. Where we will be meeting Sarah, her cousin, my cigar buddy Perry & his wife to caravan up to Universal at 4pm. Deep Breath!

How have you been doing with trying to bless someone each day? I don't know that I actually thought about blessing someone but I hope that just through my words or actions I blessed someone this week. I know a few of you have blessed me in one way or another & I am truly grateful for you in my life.

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

We finally hit the road last night around 8:45 with help er pushing from Jessica and her boyfriend Gabe who literally tossed our stuff in the camper and car

I prayed the entire way to Valdosta where we stopped finally at 2am this morning
only to be awakened by our Jack Russell alarm system at 5:00 am because someone else pulled in alongside us
we contemplated hitting the road but thought better of it since we only had 5 hours sleep the previous few night and
a few emotionally stressful days
So we dozed back off until the alarms went off again at 6 am tthen we finally woke up and got things moving at 8:30
Thanks to SHOVE them out the door Jessica I didn't grab my phone cable, blankets or food for me
so until we were able to find a Wally world in Perry where we could buy another the phone only was turned on for a few minutes to check for messages.
I thought the White knuckle navigating was over but no nearing Atlanta the car sputtering when we tried to accelerated to the point of us only going 10 mph on the interstate
we stopped a few times walked the dogs let the car rest and grabbed a banana or ice tea from the trailer fridge as we headed west into Alabama where I had never been before
thinking the terrain would be less steep and easier on the car
we were passed by a few dozen trucks hauling nascars to Talladega for the races
I wasn't able to power up fast enough to snap a picture of the thousands of folks camping around the track but at the next gas stop I was able to call The Queen returning her message from last night and back on the road we went through Birmingham and into Tennessee where the car started doggin' out again where I scrambled to send out an emergency prayer request although if we were going to break down I couldn't have picked a better place than the home town of Peter Furler of The Newsboys.
We even thought of tracking down Carmen, Bill & Dave at the Dove Awards to bring everyone out to lay hands on the car and pray.
Nashville is beautiful at night!
We are currently in Springfield throwing down I rings a burger & my hometown favorite A&W Rootbeer. Got a call from Jessica she was boarding her Connecting flight from Charlotte to Milwaukee
too bad her clothes are in our camper VBG

Just want say a special Thank You to GOD for getting us this far safely and to Pastor Dave my sweet friends Polly & Cheryl for responding so quickly to my call for prayer! May GOD continue to richly bless you and yours!

Blessings 2 U All my friends

One last thing the two youngest were able to take their shoes off tonight a walk in REAL Grass not St. Augustine, Bahia or Bermuda that those in Florida refer to as grass but the real honest to goodness thing.

We are now in Kentucky! I hope to upload some pictures tomorrow!
