The Excitement is Building.....

After class last night we ran over to help Tim put Gavin's tube back in then raced home to watch LOST...we had it recording so we can zip through the commercials. I had such a headache during class that I wasn't sure I would make it and sure enough I fell asleep halfway through the darn show. I am going to have to watch it again to actually decide if I like the way things are going this year.

We had hard freeze warnings here last night & we woke up to this

FROST

It has been so cold here in Central Florida that my dogs don't even want to go out unless they REALLY have to go.

Today we are trying to get things completely packed into the camper before Gavin arrives. So there is a lot of scurrying in & out into the brisk air.
I might have to drive down myself with the family following a little later tomorrow as I don't want to be late this year for the Florida Scrub Hooking. I want to see all Polly has packed before it is gone this time. Instead of bringing a rug to finish I am going to start a new one instead this should lessen the amount of things I need to pack. Making sure the family has food (mine is covered at the Inn) the dogs have their leashes, food & medications, everyone has enough clothing/shoes/sweatshirts etc. Thank GOD it will be warmer than it has been during the daytime but the nights will still be in the 40's or 50's.

As I am typing this 'Conehead' is sitting on my lap to keep warm. If I get a few minutes later today I hope to update the Rug Hooking Blog as Cyndi sent me some photos' of the rugs she just mailed off. I still think there are a few finished photo's I am missing, Jo's, Cheryl's & Lois' Rugs?

Back to work have to make sure the Camera & Charger are packed!

WISHING YOU & YOURS A BLESSED NEW YEAR

1907 Times Square

We have not gone out for New Years Eve since.....I can't remember when...maybe 1992?

We usually stay home with family & friends, eat sushi, play games & watch the ball drop

This year we are breaking tradition & heading to The Martin's house, for what sounds like our typical New Years Eve. :-)
Maybe it is because we are about the same age or maybe it is because we grew up in the same neck of the woods, who knows?
I am happy to bid goodbye to 2008 and I look forward to 2009 being a year of blessings & dreams come true.

We started planning out some of the next few months events yesterday.
We look forward to more camping, meeting up with old friends along the way and spending more time with the kids & watching Gavin grow!
I hope to see you here, on facebook or maybe in person finally in 2009.

Whatever this New Year has in store I know GOD will bring us through it just as HE has this last year and the many before!

What is the learning curve for us old folks?

I tried to add a pop out slideshow so that you didn't have to scroll down through all the photo's but it is not co-operating.

Since we have to get to piano lessons & do a couple errands shortly the best I could do is add this slideshow of the group events.

I have the hike & wildlife photos ready to load so maybe I can get them to work properly later tonight after I finish making the tags for tomorrows class....:-)

I hope you enjoy the slideshow.

Some wonderful photo highlights

It really is a challenge using an outdated program to edit photos to this blog so I emailed them all back to my desktop & ask that you forgive any discolorations or less than sharp images as iphoto is still not working on this machine...despite my attempts to restore it from a previous version....UGH

Journeyfest...weekend update

We arrived in Brooksville around 5:30 and set up camp, there were only a few other campers already there & a youth group with their tents set up. We pulled in right across the roadway from the Encore Stage (Pavilion) which would be used Saturday.
Friday Night was all Hardcore Metal Bands...seems odd to think Christian Heavy Metal or Screamo as some call it.

We could hear them all just find from our campsite and let Tyler go hang out down in the Main Stage Area...We roasted Marshmallows & played 500 Rummy with Sahara. Tyler rolled back in at 10pm to watch Numbers and play cards with us until Midnight when the music finished.

Saturday I was up early, 4:30am to take the dogs out. Thankfully they all went back to sleep until 8am when we all started the day. We had omelets cooked over the fire then set out to see the vendors & the main stage with Otis, Emma & Casper.
Sahara & I stopped to talk to a young girl who was sitting on a tree drawing...she wanted to pet the dogs. Grethel & Sahara became fast friends & were inseparable the rest of the weekend. Her mother & stepbrother were vending one of the food stands.

Tyler decided on a T-shirt & hat from one of the booths called Remnant Gear where Joel Betancourt & Omar De Pablo have their amazing designed clothing and Joels C.D.'s for sale. I will put their links on the side, be sure to check them out!

More on the rest of the day tomorrow.
